The correct stock size control arm bolts are metric. Many aftermarket “SAE upgrade” kits replace the factory metric hardware with oversized bolts (11/16s, 9/16s, etc.), which often requires drilling and permanently alters the joint, reducing bushing sleeve strength. Instead of changing bolt diameter, we stuck with metric and use a properly engineered shoulder so the bushing sleeve is supported on the shoulder instead of the threads. This restores clamp stability and prevents movement without compromising the original suspension components or geometry. Many SAE-based kits exist due to availability and higher costs of fine-thread metric hardware, not because changing bolt diameter provides an engineering advantage.
These DO NOT come in stainless. Any bolts where the strength of the bolt might come into question, such as a rollover or anything of that nature, we stick to EXTREMELY strong material to make sure to keep drivers safe. So rollbar and seat bolts, etc, should never be stainless steel.
